A Poem for Young People

Someone who lives Inside Me

There is someone who lives inside me.

He is bigger than the world can hold,

Smaller than my eyes can see

The person inside me is a little like me,

But couldn’t be me,

Because she is braver, bigger, bolder, far wiser than me,

But it’s still nice to think, that we might at least be related.

The person inside me is quiet, and doesn’t say much.

Sometimes she’s so gentle and nice, that I almost feel her touch.

She’s so kind she always listens when I talk about boys, girls, such and such.

And whenever I go talk to her, I found out she’s been waiting.

There is someone who lives inside me.

He is bigger than the world can hold,

Smaller than my eyes can see.

Someday I’m going to find out who it is!
